Four Walls (2018)

Photographed over the course of one twenty-four hour period, 'Four Walls' is a reflection on the artist's brother Alexander and the mental illness that eventually pushed him to take his life. Diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 2015, Alex's home became a sanctuary from the complexities of contemporary society, as well a prison within which perceived dangers where amplified. The photographs attempt to visually depict internal turmoil his brother underwent, using the home as a metaphor for the his brothers own internal mechanisms. Sight only presents us with half the story.
